I've lived in Minneapolis long enough to remember both of those places. When Lucilles first open she was good, but then everybody started complaining about her in the end. Nobody ever really got into Sallies because the taste of the food changed so much from cook to cook. Big E's was the only place that had good food on a regular basis. My food always tasted like it was cooked by the same person until the end. That's when he walked out. I guess they tried to change his recipe or something. He's coming back though, I checked out his website.
: Sorry Micheal, Minneapolis is not really known
: for it's soul food. The best chance we had
: was when Big E's was open. People used to
: like Lucilles but she closed and so did
: Sallies, but neither one of those places
: compared to Big E's. We're just waiting for
: him to open again - so you'll just have to
: suffer like the rest of us

: Then to my dismay I heard that they closed.
: Now I see through the website that he will
: open again, but in the meantime, I'm coming
: back from Illinois for a convention this
: summer and was wondering if there was any
: other place in town like Big E's?
