The New Year is here and we hope to make it an enjoyable one. Two sites have been created in an attempt to ensure this fact. The taxpaying citizens of Billerica and other towns need to be informed of all credible information on issues regarding their individual community along with issues in town and statewide the affect the quality of their life and their fellow citizens. These two sites are designed to encourage credible information which local newsprint conveniently avoids. All civic-minded input is encouraged. We all need to share information and support our fellow citizens to prevent the long-term effects on our town’s tax base, public safety, conservation and the quality of life in all our communities. Projects that will overburden our town’s infrastructure along with many other towns statewide have been approved and too many more are in progress. Development corporations nationwide are eyeballing Mass. as easy prey and the state lawmakers are allowing them to use taxpayer’s money to do so. The newspapers proclaimed that our state representative is submitting Billerica, Mass. to be proclaimed officially as “The Yankee Doodle Town” in congress. Maybe it is time to begin to take a little time out of all of our busy daily routines to pay attention to and understand what the consequences are if we continually ignore the long term affects in regard to law and the many projects being proposed.
