Billerica should be reconsidered. If you visit a working power
plant, such as Salem Harbor, you will see just how unattractive,
noisy and pollution-generating power plants can be, not to mention
an environmental nightmare. The Billerica plant would not be coal-
fired like Salem Harbor. However, it will consume a considerable
amount of natural resources in the form of oil and gas.
electricity, but if DG Clean Power really wants to be clean, why not
install a smaller generator and add solar panels and windmills to
make up the difference?
photovoltaic array. To quote Brockton Mayor James
Harrington: "Cities have the power to make a difference in our local
and regional environment, and we can do so through our power
choices. We need to do all we can to develop alternative sources of
energy."
usage and community growth only, solar power and/or wind power may
be sufficient and a whole lot friendlier to the neighborhood.
