To whoever posted this. I wrote that column, so for the sake of accuracy, it is not a Herald editorial. The editorials appear on the opposite page. It is a column reflecting my opinon. Editorials reflect a newspaper's collective opinion. I am not a staff member, but, rather a self-employed free-lance columnist, just for the record. Thanks for posting it.
