well worth reviewing by everyone when they have the time. I agree
with Judi, the information that Jan posted is "Great" but not
comforting. Thank you, Jan.
reading, Thanks. It is amazing how the inner cities organized and if
you think about it, most of the pollution produced there would go
out to sea so "Mother Nature" could attempt, and I do mean attempt
to purify it, and would not linger in the human lungs like it will
in our inland area.
with some serious food for thought.
I was told in 1978 that sewerage in my area would be only a year
away, and the area which was being discussed at the last selectmen's
meeting in regards to possibly going on line in the next few weeks
is the area where I live! In saying that, I feel we should step
back, reevaluate costs and slow down the projects being proposed to
be completed over a longer period of time to ease the burden on the
taxpayers. If the power plant goes in, our taxes and Sewer/water
bills will price many long-term citizens right out of town! If you
don't believe me do some math. If I waited 29 years for sewer then
some of our other citizens should be able to also. Abdul's wake-up
call should be a great reality check when it comes down to the
condition of our town's infrastructure. As far as the water meters
go, if they only last ten years lets put the mechanical ones back in
they lasted for decades!
weeks selectmen's meeting and Dave for speaking out to encourage
some open forums on this serious issue before any further is done on
the permitting process for approval.
Lombardo for officially requesting open town hearings on the plant
proposal and his fore thought regarding that the invitation should
extend to all sounding towns. Keep in mind the health and
environmental concerns, will not be limited to "Just North
Billerica!"
Power Plant or how the 40B's are destroying town budgets.
Tewksbury - Senator Tucker
Monday from 7-8
Tewksbury public library Monday March 12th. One member of
our group has received communication from Senator Tucker and she is
in favor of the Billerica Power Plant. Interesting, in 2001, the
town of Andover approved 145k to fight Nickel Hill going in her town
(Andover). Talk about, not in my backyard attitudes!
