Before I say anything I would like you to know, I appreciate you posting and reading our site and I hope you continue to. We are not a group of people who are just blurting out statements because we don’t want this horrible thing in our backyard. If Tuesday night’s meeting had involved an intelligent discussion and an exchange of concerns I feel the resilient and well-informed members of our group and our community would have left you so-called experts painted into a corner you would not have been able to escape from. We, as a community, have spent hours and hours and hours researching valid government sites and all the subjective wording in the laws which your people claim are there to protect us! We also have experts living in our community. The information you presented was incomplete, and many of us feel the information was an insult to our intelligence. We live in the real world around here, and most of the open-minded folks of this area all said the same thing, “If you had presented a thorough accurate unbiased and complete study your company would not be hired by people like DG Clean Power to do these studies in the first place!” I do not wish to insult you or discourage you from posting information, but we are concerned about our communities’ children, elderly, and future of the Merrimack Valley as a whole. The Energy Partnership Group, or whatever it is called, was formed by the power companies to reconfigurate the power grid while they reap massive amounts of profit for themselves and we do not wish to be the energy supplying dumping ground for this area of New England. Just like Blackstone Valley fought against Mr. Fitzpatrick and ANP we will fight this irresponsible plan from destroying our homes, this threat to public safety and to our quality of life. I don’t know if you were aware of this fact that another Power Plant is proposed by the same people which will be put in Lowell, not too far away, and have a few more on the drawing board. I do not even know if you care, but if you do, I will only ask once for your help. You can decide for yourself if you like what you see in the mirror every morning when you shave, or if only money is of importance to you. We are not fools and our side of the issue, if we can ever have anyone take the time to listen to it, is much easier to present that yours. I believe you should be careful about presenting only what you wish to be heard to promote this disgusting smoke and mirror campaign, we will present Fact, After Fact, After Fact from reliable government statistics’ until someone with much more influence or maybe even with money will join our cause. The truth is easy to protect and present; the LIE’S and manipulation of truth can be exhausting.
The town officials have been very busy, with the town election, budgets, preparing for town meeting, and many other responsibilities, which have kept them from reading all the detailed information we have researched and provided, we believe now, they will be able to take this information into account when reviewing the proposed plan.
The community members who truly care about the town will soon realize what is going on, and there are still many people in town still unaware of this proposal, we will see what happens then, if it is not too late!
