Re: an Eye Opener of a site
Hey Joe,
Sorry I have not had a chance to get back to you, but I am
overwhelmed with responsibility! Well since you read my message,
then how about starting with Judi's concerns which I pasted below.
We all know that these studies are not required by law, and
hopefully everyone is aware of the changes in our pollution laws,
but these particles will cause extensive health issues to all of us
and our families in the near future. This will become even more of
an issue once we have the first Natural Gas shortage or when the
plant changes hands after DG Clean sets the plant up, and turns it
over to another company. Mr. Fitzgerald and Mr. Liston have been
right up front with us on that point and Mr. Liston even stated that
fact at the very end of the public, one question sit down and shut
meeting. If your company was hired by the town to research the
project for the people of the town, then law should not be the
guidelines for public safety, the peoples well being should be the
number ONE issue.
What will be the effect on the people when that plant runs on dirty
diesel for lets say a 12hr. period? (They can petition the board to
run on what is ECONOMICALLY FEASIBLE and the DEPA has no laws to
stop that!)
What will be the effects on health from these particulates being
released?
support other areas of New England, due to demand and the shortage
of Natural Gas, how serious will the air quality of the Merrimack
Valley be affected?
expert lied when he said he would have no problem with living near
that power plant and that was when your company lost it's
credibility with most of the towns people. So here is just a few of
the concerns we would like "real data" on which may help you redeem
your companies reputation if you really would like to or care about
the people.
I hope to hear from you soon with the data, but I will be busy for
the next few days.
Thanks Joe
Take Care
Ed
My problem is the particulates. They're ABOVE the 24-hour
significant impact level. That's from their own document submission
to the EFSB. And that's only PM10 -- they're not even required by
the gov't to test for PM 2.5. That's a big concern. The guy with
the four kids hit the nail on the head about his kids with asthma.
These peakers heat up in 10 minutes -- fast -- they burn hotter and
thus emit more. It may be cleaner than the Salem plant -- but the
Salem plant isn't next to my house!

addressed. One of the reasons I've been monitoring this discussion
forum was in hopes to incorporate the townspeople concerns into our
presentation.
