To those who oppose the new powerplant on the Tewksbury/Billerica
line... I hope that these new environmental rules can be applied?:

Hey bferrari,
I was beginning to think nobody in Tewksbury cared, except for Rep.
Miceli and Judi. The Globe article was great, but the new law will
not apply to this proposal, because this Tuesday Night at the
Marshal Middle School at 7:00PM, the Energy Facility Siting Board
will be holding their public meeting to hear the concerns of the
citizens of our area. Unless a massive crowd should appear to
express such concerns or just be present as a show of force, the
process then moves to the state level before this law will effect
this proposal.
I am a concerned member of the Billerica Community, and also a
member of the Billerica Watchers Group, which was formed last
December when different developments in the Billerica Community and
in surrounding communities, raised our awareness of why many town
budgets and the infrastructures of the area are now overburdened.
Many of us believe our area is being unjustly targeted to relieve
the many congested cities and towns of possibly the Greater Boston
Area and other metropolitan areas, by providing them with relief
because of irrational management of their budgets, and their other
failing agendas. These are many of the cities and towns who many of
us have worked so hard to escape from years ago, to provide our
families with a better “Quality of Life” and a more rural setting.
Now, we are not only being required to sacrifice our rural setting,
but now we are having the task of supplying energy to many different
areas of our state, states and areas of New England with this so-
called, “Power Peaking Plant Proposal.” If anyone feels this is an
extreme analogy of the situation, we encourage you to review the
valid and eye opening material that the concerned members of our
group have spent months and hours upon hours reviewing!
We as a group have submitted alarming material to our town officials
to review, and offered to put aside some of our valuable time to
further explain the documented concerns personally with them. Here
is how the process works, if the state approves the site in our area
for the plant, the town boards will be rendered ineffective when the
members catch up and digest the material we have unpleasantly
sacrificed our valuable personal time view. Before May 1st all
persons or groups wishing to speak or question any witnesses at the
Official Energy Facility Siting Board review, must do so in writing
to the board or forever hold their peace according to law! If anyone
would like to submit the same material in your town feel free to
contact us, but if the material and the letter wishing to intervene
is not submitted with concerns BEFORE MAY 1st, it will be too late!
Hey bferrari, maybe you would like to post the 24th meeting and some
of this information on your home page, because we are running out of
time. We are doing the best we can, but you have a much larger group
than we have, and as I have posted before on your site, Billerica
cannot stop this plant or even slow the process down until more
unbiased information can be released, we need help from all the
communities in the Merrimack Valley.
