There was a good market at one time for the skins but I don't think its all that good anymore.....Some people eat nutria, i don't but know people that do.......Its a pretty meat but just the thought of a big rat is a turn off......The state of Louisiana is giving 5 bucks per nutria tail turned in if you have a trappers license........They do a lot of damage to the enviroment by eating up the marshes then the land erodes.......The also tear up the levee and river banks by making their dens in them......People here are more than happy for you to hunt them.......Being the nice guy that I am i'm always happy to help them out by hunting them with my dogs.......LOL
