Naive women are perhaps Iluvatar's gift to me, because Eru knows how many have fallen for my charms. I'm not sure which is more enjoyable: the point when they think I'm their Prince Charming knight-in-shining-armor, or when they come crashing down back to reality after I've taken what I want and they realize that they were pawns that never meant anything to me. Though there are hazards, I admit, to such games. Having your nose broken and groin kicked into next week is never pleasant. But the gains far outweigh the potential for disaster. A broken nose is nothing when compared to gaining Middle Earth on a silver platter.
The look on her face, I truly think she may have loved me for a short while. In that teenage way, that brief infatuation. I can't blame her really, she was shy and self conscious, and I'm a handsome king who took interest in her. That was why it was so easy to control her. Like a puppet, she did exactly what I asked. For the most briefest of touches and soft kind words, she sold the world to me. Well, perhaps not the world, simply Gondor. But after Minas Tirith fell, so did Rohan and the elven realms. My armies control all the important centers of the world except for Harad. The one country I can't touch...yet. My older sister rules Harad and controls its protectorate Nippon. While her army is vastly inferior to mine, unfortunately she knows Mordor like the back of her hand, better than I do, and her armies I'm certain would sweep over Mordor quickly if I provoked her. So I'm left to posturing, a dangerous game with Tyra slowly encrouching with my armies to look for the rebels I know are gathering in Harad.
Are you with me?12
