First, there were demons. Then, there were 'riders, mounted on dragons, gyrecats, gryphons and pegasi.

Now, there is a plague.

A demoniac plaguemaker has created a disease unlike any other. Now released, it travels through any medium and attacks those who do not have some sort of immunity, or are just lucky. Humans who contract the disease either die as their bodies cannot handle it, or mutate into hideous monsters, and are shunned into the deepest, murkiest slums of the kingdom, away from the royal eye. Partbloods, the offspring of a long line of royal projects, who become infected lose control of their limited powers, causing a ripple of chaotic mayhem that most seem unaware of.

In the Wings, 'riders who have mutated have been taken off active duty, leaving the numbers of active fliers remarkably low as healers help take care of their hideous wingmates - and all this is beside the fact that both the Northern and Southern Wing Commanders, partbloods, have contracted the disease, losing control of the powers that they had grown to use on a daily basis, causing confusion throughout the bases.

The plaguemaker hides away from prying eyes, and though life goes on, it is a race against infection to find and destroy the creator - the only cure to this horrible virus, this plague of plagues.
