ooh, you are a western convert?! *dances with glee* well let me tell you (just in case you forgot xD!) that jumping is ah-may-zing. ^_^ you should go to a show... even if you aren't comfortable jumping yet you could probably enter in a hack or w/t/c 
Cornerstone and Evenstride are two nice schooling shows - i think Cornerstone actually asks you not to braid, lol, so it's very relaxed. 8) you could also go to Echo or something like Rowley which are both in the area, those are especially low-key and people bring their little kids/adult re-riders there for first shows. 
LOL... don't worry, though, i feel your pain P: i had to take a two year break in my first two years of HS and kind of shamed myself at my hunter barn where they're all fancy and perfect XD!
also - enjoy the nice weather! (really.) when the rain clears up all our snow should be gone. 8) W00T!
