My name is Mike Shaffer, son of Stephen J Shaffer (FHHS Class of 1964). In July of 2007 Dad passed way from pancreatic cancer. I was curious if anyone out knew dad or had any memories from your days with him. He always spoke of Forest hills high, putting Willie Mays cards in bicycle spokes, playing stickball, and going to Jahn's.
Dad went to Russell Sage Middle School and lived on 62 Ave in Rego Park, NY. He went to college out in Chicago and lived in Oceanside, NY since. After years in teaching he was recently in educational administration in the Elmont School District. He'd loved baseball and umpired little league for the last 30 years.
