PS 206, Halsey, FHHS. I was on the FHHS baseball team because of Gordon. I was catching for a friend of mine, who was trying out for the team as a pitcher. I wasn't trying out. Gordon knew me from Poney League and softball, he told Chet Gusick (the coach of the team) to watch me and not my friend. I made the team and my friend didn't. Teammates were, Vache Bahadurian (I still play softball with him every Sunday), Larry Lachman, Steve Katz, Lenny Klein, Bookie Michaelson, Steve Gillman and others.
I remember Gordon fouled a ball into his face and broke his nose, never saw that befroe or since....he went on to play that game and was a winner. I haden't stayed in touch with him...but always will remember him and his style.
