I was a fairly active member of Play Pro from 63-65. Although never a lead, I performed in the "The Wedding," playing the father of the bride and "Out of the Frying Pan," playing the dumber of the two cops. I also performed in Junior and Senior Sing.
I remember our teacher/director, Mr. Kerr, who died in my senior year.
Interestingly, Play Pro had a long-term effect on me as well. Although I never acted or directed professionally, I did - in my college and adult life as a summer camp drama counselor and as a high school English and speech teacher respectively - go on to direct both camp and high school shows for many years.
Although the only way I can get into a theater nowadays is to buy a ticket, meaning that my involvement in theater has lessened greatly, it all began with Play Pro. Frankly, my Play Pro activities constitute my best memories from my high school years.
PS. Does anyone recall going to Jahns, which was sort of our version of Sardis, on "opening nights?"
