I do remember the rock concert. What I particualrly recall is that we in the audience were kind of disrespectful because the performers were lip synching. This was followed by Joe O' Brian , an original WMCA Good Guy, who emceeded the thing, coming out and explaining why they had to lip synch.
I guess that my character never had to drink, so the booze story is a little foreign to me, but I also recall giving Mr. Kerr a present at the cast party during my junior year. It was a bottle of Pinch Scotch. That was kind of a ballsy move for high schoolers to do back then, or even now, but I also remember his holding up the bottle and saying something to the effect of, " Rest assure that this will be well used."
During my eventual high school teaching career, I directed the shows for a number of years, but I must admit, I never got such a gift. Frankly, I also must admit that I would have appreciated such a gift. But. alas, all I ever got were some damn plaques. (Here you can super impose me smiling
because I actually liked the plaques and still have them hanging on a wall in my office.
I'll look forward to your next entry on this subject.
