The lip synching/Joe O'Brian thing happened as I said it did. As I recall, O'Brian came on the stage to explain it right after Lenny Welch performed. If you think about it, it makes sense because there were full orchestrations to all of the performers, but no musicians, and the technology that later became Karioke was two decades away from being invented. But anyway, it was a good show.
The irony is that I saw some of the acts you've mentioned in an oldies Doo Wop show just a few years ago. The years have been kinder to me than to them.
Well, Ray, this will be my final entry unless we get some new blood in here. Where are all of the other aspiring actors and actresses from those days? I'm sure that they too have memories that they might like to share. I guess they are all doing the Facebook thing. Anyway, I wish you the best.
