We were in a program called Chem Study and were even more sports junkies than we were science weenies.
One year he bet me that Don Drysdale of the LA Dodgers would hit at least one home run.
It was either the 1964 or 1965 season.
I faded the proposition bet and paid off the very next day as Drysdale homered in his first game that season I believe, and proceeded to hit 7 or 8 HRs that year, batting over .300.
Selwyn would go each weekend of the spring 1964 season to Shea Stadium (its first year open)and attend the Friday night, the Saturday day game and the Sunday double header.
How he ever got his home work done I will not ever know.
Where is he now ?
I live in Wilmette, Illinois, just north of Chicago and my alma mater, Northwestern University.
I honestly got a comparable education at good old Forest Hills in the days when kids could still read.
All my best to every one.
