In theory, Kucinich raises a good point: If no one's voting for another six months, is it really fair to exclude even the most hopeless candidates? If they can't be heard, how can they ever succeed? But Kucinich's attitude toward debates is quite flexible. Here in Cleveland, he routinely refuses to debate lesser-known rivals, denying them exposure on the grounds that voters already know where he stands. Well, so do lots of Democratic primary voters - which is why Kucinich's poll numbers are microscopic and why Clinton and Edwards would like to limit discussion to candidates with a snowball's chance in you-know-where of winning.
