Posted by J.R. Dieckmann Rosenberg’s writings take me back to the ‘70s when we had relative peace and no real enemies attacking us. The hippy generation thought we were entering an era of love and peace and it could become the way of the world if we just didn’t look too closely. For a while, I was one of them but then I grew up. We thought a whole new reality was coming into view with the “age of Aquarius” and everyone could be loved and trusted. Meanwhile, Islam was getting ready for Jihad. Peace may come some day, but only after those who want war are defeated. America wants peace but we are the only country willing and able to defeat evil and those who insist on war. We are the only remaining defender of the free world and we have been attacked. If we fail to defend ourselves, the free world will descend into anarchy and fall under the control of the instigators of war. Freedom will be lost forever. Freedom does not come easily or naturally. It must be fought for and defended when threatened. There will always be those who wish to take it away if they feel our resolve is not strong enough to resist them. A free people can remain free only as long as they are willing to fight for their freedom, and that will not change until all people of the world are living in freedom. That day has not yet come. The premise of Rosenberg’s thinking is that if all societies were prosperous and healthy, we wouldn’t have wars or terrorism and everyone would live happily ever after under socialism. The purpose of “US DOPES” is to “orchestrate various organizations (NGOs, businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, military, police, healthcare, etc.) to come together holistically, share a common vision, work as a team, and build the capacity for a strong and vibrant civil society, while respecting diverse cultural perspectives.” In other words, he proposes a “New World Order” all under one huge bureaucracy within the U.S. government tightly bound to the United Nations and all living within the global community. A communist’s dream come true. Don’t we all want to live on an equal economic and social level with Darfur, Mexico, and Pakistan? Who is going to pay for all this economic improvement in 3rd world countries? Rosenberg doesn’t say. However, he does comment that the U.S. gives only 1% of its GDP to foreign aid, implying that it should be a lot more. Ignoring that any foreign aid is not constitutionally authorized and that most foreign contributions by Americans are done through private charity organizations and not the government, it‘s clear that “US DOPES” would be a huge burden on the American taxpayer, demonstrating little respect for U.S. constitutional law. And since this plan would create a government agency working in conjunction with the State and Justice Departments, it would be free to pursue its agenda with full immunity from the will of the American People. The “US DOPES” Act would also transfer various government resources to its control. These resources would include The Peace Corp; the United States Institute of Peace; the Office of the Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Affairs of the Department of State; the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; and the Safe Futures program of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention of the Department of Justice. Maybe they ought to include FEMA in there too. It’s not working too well under the DHS and we’re going to need it when our enemies discover the Department of Peace and take full advantage of it. In addition, there shall be within the Department an Office of Peace Education and Training, the head of which shall be the Assistant Secretary for Peace Education and Training. The Assistant Secretary for Peace Education and Training shall carry out those functions of the Department relating to the creation, encouragement, and impact of peace education and training at the elementary, secondary, university, and postgraduate levels, including the development of a Peace Academy. This means that there will be more liberal/socialist indoctrination of our young, and more government control and interference in our public schools and universities. Also included in “US DOPES” is an Office of Arms Control and Disarmament whose sole purpose is to eliminate all nuclear and mass destruction weapons worldwide. We can’t even find Saddam’s WMDs in Syria, so I don’t know how they intend to accomplish this. The claim is that it will be possible through international communities like the UN, which has been so successful in disarming Saddam Hussein, Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah. There is no exclusion for American nuclear weapons so we can assume that this means disarming America. I have no doubt that this would also eventually lead to disarming all American citizens as well, since the department deals with domestic as well as international violence. In all, the bill creates 7 new government offices under the banner of “US DOPES” for the purpose of promoting the peace agenda and global socialism under a New World Order. About the only thing missing from this bill (so far) is the abolishment of the Department of Defense, but then the bill has plenty of room for amendments not yet added. I wouldn’t count on this bill getting much Republican support in Congress, except from the usual RINOs. Do we really want to go down this path? Do we really want to confront Islamic terrorism with peace offerings and financial aid? Will any of this stop Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from building and using nuclear weapons on Israel and the west? It is obviously easy enough to convince today’s Democrat Party to lay down their weapons and talk peace, but trying it with Islam is a whole different ball game. It is painfully obvious that Dennis Kucinich and 67 congressmen have absolutely no understanding of Islam or the threat we face from them. They seem to think that the whole world thinks like Democrats. For more information on “US DOPES“, go to Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act at the Library of Congress.

The plan falls far short of addressing today’s problem of terrorism, because Islamist terrorism has no state sponsor other than Iran. Al Qaeda is not likely to sign on to this plan; nor is it interested in peace. Rosenberg suggests that poverty and lack of opportunity are root causes of terrorism but that is not accurate and, as we have been seeing in Britain lately, there is proof that is not the case. The latest terrorist attacks in the UK were the acts by educated people who could have had successful careers as doctors. Their only problem was Islamism, the root cause of terrorism.
