Posted by Sabrina Eaton "Talk to people about the film, how they feel about the war, are they concerned about another war in Iran, do they realize the Neo Conservative Republicans and Democrats have no intention of bringing our soldiers home before the election," campaign manager Mike Klein urged in an e-mail to Kucinich supporters earlier this week. Although the film will be in theaters for a while, Klein's e-mail said "it will be important to get as many supporters out during the initial release as possible." Kucinich himself will spend the weekend talking to California voters at events around San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Westlake Village, according to a press advisory released by his campaign. On Monday night, he is scheduled to be a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. One of Kucinich's rivals in his district's Democratic congressional primary, Rosemary Palmer, put out a press release of her own to announce that she'll campaign in Westlake, Ohio this Saturday, while Kucinich is in California's Westlake. Noting that the West Coast Westlake already is represented by two congressmen, her release concluded: "Westlake, CA has three congressman this weekend. Westlake, OH has none."

If you're planning to see the film "In the Valley of Elah" when it opens today, get ready for a presidential campaign pitch from backers of Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich on the way out the door. The movie about soldiers returning from the Iraq war is another project by Kucinich campaign contributor Paul Haggis, of "Crash" and "Million Dollar Baby" fame.
