1979 Maico Magnum 400 For Sale
Professionally built with Maico Only / Thor aluminum swingarm,
Works Perfomance shocks, flex free '81 forks (Maico Only rods, legal travel
and shorter '79 steering stem), Maico Only pipe, silencer and pegs, Mikuni,
aluminum rear hub drilled to accept '81 sprockets, Sun rims with
Buchanan spokes, Rage Racing shifter and case saver, Renthal bars and
powdercoated frame. Cylinder has been cleaned up and matched, but
porting is stock. Clutch redone by Lynn Shoup at Rage Racing last
season. The gas tank is in great shape.
The bike was purchased in the Winter of 2007 by the present
owner and completely gone through by Carlos Serrano. New Wiseco Pro
Lite piston (77.50) and bore job (only 1 hour on it), forks gone
through and shocks dyno'd by Carlos Serrano, all new fenders, number
plate and side panels, motor and transmission dissassembled and gone
thru, new chain and sprockets, new air filter, new throttle assembly,
new cables, and new Wheelsmith style clutch spring (not washers).
A great looking, solid, fully race winning bike in top condition. This
bike was a 2006-2007 AVDRA Class Champion before it was gone thru by Carlos. It combines the legendary handling of the Magnum, the great front
forks from the '81 Mega, and the silky smoothness of the 400 motor.
