Your donation has been restricted for the care of the dogs from the Buxton breeding kennel. Thanksto kindhearted friends like you, we are able to continue opening our doors to more than 4,000 stray, abandoned and unwanted animals each year. Moreover, through your generosity, we can provide vaccinations and testing, alter shelter animals upon adoption, operate an educational outreach program, and provide spay/neuter assistance to individuals in need to help reduce the number of unwanted animals. With an experienced animal care staff, the Animal Refuge League is recognized among animal welfare professionals for providing a consistently high level of care. Under the guidance of local veterinarians, we are able to provide restorative treatment and nurse many neglected and injured animals back to health. Our staff and volunteers do everything in their power to comfort the animals and help relieve their stress while they await adoption. For the cats, soft bedding and brown paper bags in which to hide help give them a sense of security when they arrive, while longer term residents enjoy increased freedom of our multi-cat housing and the companionship of volunterr socializers. For the dogs,classical music, leash walks on our one-mile wooded trail, elevated beds, fresh bones, and doggie play groups help keep them both physically and mentally healthy to improve their chances for adoption. For the small animal group, we offer hidey homes ( for safety), 'Wodent" Wheels for exercise and dedicated volunteers who regularly socialize them as well. We continue to be grateful to people like you who literally define the level of care we provide. With your commitment, we will work even harder to improve the quality of life of the animals while in our care and increase the number of happy outcomes. Again, thanks for caring
