We have a female Olde that had 13 puppies 3 days ago. She did not eat much at all for the last 5 days prior to due date and now we know why! She is eating well now. We give her canned puppy mixed with dry puppy, any milk replacer left over from helping her feed the pups and Satan Balls. We give her this twice a day and leave dry puppy available to her at all times. Does this sound right to you all? Any other tips for me? I want to get her ahead of what the puppies are taking out of her. She is in all other ways in great shape. Happy, taking great care of the pups, using the bathroom fine and does not seem to be dehydrated at all. We have never had a female get so thin after whelping but then again I don't think we have ever had a female have this many pups. Any advice would be great.
