After graduation, he served in the Navy, where he lived in San Diego, California and Honolulu, Hawaii; eventually, returning home to Forest, MS. Driven by faith, Robert found community as a member of the Forest Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, June Harvey of Forest, as well as his beloved daughters who were also Forest High graduates, Lori Mathis (Rick) of Canton, MS and Lynn Harvey Liu (Joe) of Knoxville, TN.

Bob fought a long and hard battle with cancer for the last 3 years, showing everyone around him his courage and strength. Always searching for the brighter side of life, he loved nothing more than being outside in the sun. He is remembered by his family for his humble, willful and hard-working spirit, his simple lifestyle, his impeccable green thumb and his famous “Papaw’s Peppers.”
