I could not find on the new web site the submission page that was used to submit glasses information, for additions to the data base - it might be there and I did not track it down correctly. If the submission page is not there we need to have it added, to make the submission process both more likely to happen, and also to standardize the info. The info I recently sent had to be approximate, from my recollection of what was wanted for submissions.
What I have done in the past, with admitedly small amounts of glasses, was to fill in the submission info, put a note in the misc notes that a picture was also available, and then email a picture attachment to webmaster or steve's email, noting what glass that picture was for.
I know that I mentioned several years ago during the presentation at the meeting in Ohio about the database, that I was unclear what process to use to submit both info and pictures about a glass, in a way that would make it easy to use those items together to do the data base update.
I hope to be able to send any relevant, new to the data base glasses pictures and info on to Steve for the data base, and also to the flickr if they seem interesting enough for that site.
Keep in mind that the flickr has 2 elements that are attractive to people - one is that it is immediate, and the other is that it shows what YOU as the person posting it, has - IE a little bit of bragging rights, which I think is totally OK and part of the fun - but I can see that it is a good idea to submit new glasses info to the data base also.
So - is there a submission page? If not, can we get it added in? Would there be a way to have a picture link added to that, or is it best to send the picture seperately, to a particular email?
To the best of my ability I have sent info and pictures of the single glasses (not sets, groups, boxes, pins, plastic cups) that I have put in the flickr site - some were sent at the same time as the flickr postings, some were sent in the last couple days after Steve's notes.
It is fairly uncommon for me to find an interesting glass that is not already in the database, so I think that my submissions would generally be in the 2 or 3 at a time category.
Thanks.
