I think the point Brent is trying to make is that this is not an either/or situation.
The reason FlickR was incorporated to the site was two-fold. First, we wanted members and users to have some fun, share parts of THEIR collections (as opposed to anonymous glasses)and discuss them--all things that could not be accomplished in a database,.
Second, it was meant to help draw out glasses to include in the database, ones that many of us would never learn about. I would suggest the club put together a standard letter to send to Flickr contributors who post glasses not yet in the database (asking for year of issue, other glasses in set, dimensions, sponsors, etc) and perhaps a more formal photo.
As for the database submission page--I never even knew that existed, and from discussions with other members, I'm not the only one. I apologize for missing it and we can see what can be done to add it.
