Working on the next CGN I have consolidated the information on upcoming Promotional Glass Collectors Association meetings, and thought I would put a message out also with this information.
First, several club members will be setup at some shows in Florida, in Jan and Feb as follows:
Brent Sehnert will be at Mt Dora, FL Renningers Antiques Extravaganza for Jan 20, 21, and 22nd.
Also most likely Brent will be either at the Mt Dora show again or the Megacon Show in Orlando for the weekend of Feb 17th, 18th and 19th.
PGCA member Larre Eckert is planning to have a glass club meeting on the weekend April 6 & 7, 2012.
The meeting will be at the Baymont Hotel in Greenwood, In. 46143. This is about 10 miles south of Indianapolis, IN. Last time we had a meeting we had lots of glasses and a great time, including some good food from Larre. I will be there with lots of glasses for sale and trade.
The PGCA has a meeting scheduled in conjunction with the Spring Renningers show. The show is April 26. 27 & 28. Of interest is the fact that Carl Sehnert, Dale Morrison, Brent Sehnert and Terry Scanlon will all be set up there. We do have a meeting of the PGCA scheduled for Friday April 27th at 6PM the Comfort Inn in Foglesville, PA.
Club Annual Meeting will be on Friday May 18th and Saturday May 19th in Columbus, Ohio. We are in touch with our host hotel to see what rates they can give us for a room. Hopefully, it should be around the same price as last year. The good part is it includes a hot continental breakfast.
The host hotel will be the Best Western Suites located at 1133 Evans Way Court, Columbus, OH right off I-70.
Reservation phone number is: 614-870-2378.
This is the same weekend as the Springfield Extravaganza flea market, in Springfield Ohio, about a half hour from the meeting motel. Quite a few club members will be setup there, and there will also be room hopping at the motel, as well as a club business meeting with show and tell on Saturday evening.
On a personal note, I have been at one time or another to all of these meetings, and hope to make them all this year. I know I will be at the Indiana meeting and the annual meeting, I cannot be sure about the PA event until I get closer to that time and see what me schedule is, since it takes a longer time to get there and back. But ALL of these are lots of fun, you see lots of glasses and good people to hang out with, and my experience is that I find neat things on the way out and back too. Just look at the Warner Brothers pitcher that was found in 2011 on the way to a PA PGCA meeting, what a great find.
Anyway, you can email bricall@att.net if you need more information and also check the meetings page on the web site, which will be updated this week with this and more information.
