I had a very disturbing phone call today. One of my pup's human mom, well Artie's mom was attacked by two men and one of them sicked an adult APBT on her, well would you have it known that this 7.5 month old puppy not only defended his mom but grab the APBT female off his mom and held her down on the ground until things calmed down and some one had come to his human mom's defense. He was able to differentiate between the aggressors and the people wanting to help her.
I am so darn proud of my boy. In my experience, most adult dogs dont even show that kind of controlled protective behavior. Cant wait to work more with him in the future.
Mom has a severe concussion and her sister has a broken foot and ankle, 6 fractures in all. I cannot say how proud I am of this boy!!! I swear, words cannot describe all the emotions I felt since I heard of this. And this is a pup that would submit to both his brother and Mom!!! Thank God he did what he did and he did get a whole lot of tasty treats for his heroic rescue. This pup will be trained properly for protection since he surely has what it takes and its the least we can do for her.
