Ping: Elle (Fabric)

I bought a new pair of jeans about 2 weeks ago that fit me to a T. But they have a weird chemical odor that wont wash out. It's a faint but unpleasant "rubbery" smell. I thought it was just the sizing but now I'm wondering.... ?!?!??! What can be causing this strange chemical odor and do you know how I can remove it? If they weren't such a perfect fit I'd return them.
