It has a cancer center, Woman's wing, children's wing, cardiac center & general rooms & lab's on 8 floors with a ground floor section, so called Emergency Room.
The last time I was in that Emergency room,20+ years ago, you could stand in the center of the treatment room & turn 360 degrees & see every curtained section for a patient's treatment. No more than 10 examination areas.
Most incoming patients were stabilised & then admitted to the hospital for final treatment & eventually released.
During Bea's visit/treatment Sat. morning I learned that same ER now has 50 patients EXAM rooms & complete exam's that allow a patient to be treated & discharged without ever being admitted to the above floors hospital rooms.
No doubt this is a common advancement of ER's all across the country to free up hospital rooms for the most sick & injured to be treated with longer time abed.
Who Knew ? 50 rooms !
