1. It's too expensive. Even though you can now "rent" it by month instead of laying out the entire amount, it is still a minimum commitment of $10/per month..and although affordable, it would have to be an outlay every month. Advantage is that you get the latest version and can update when needed. Many of the functions work in one version but not another so you always have to make sure what version is being used.
2. It has a tough learning curve. There are many functions that go beyond the common ones and to gain use of them requires being familiar with them. Many of their formats are proprietary.
3. A lot of its capabilities are geared toward professional printing..I don't do a lot of printing.
Photoship is no doubt the Cadillac of graphic software but I still use Corel's Paint Shop Pro which can use the Photoshop plug-ins and can do at least 80 percent of the same things. There is only one tool I'm aware of that I'd like to have and cannot duplicate in PSP.
