The weather has effected various crops for a couple of years now. For awhile there may have been enough raw material already in the pipeline so that it didn't go up as quickly. Then you have the additional problem that we don't have the fabric mills here that we used to have either. Almost every mill that that I used to buy fabric from when I was working has closed and much of the fabric is imported. Big mills that used to support small towns...gone. My company had 13 clothing plants scattered throughout the South..closed and things now made in far off places. Its like eggs. Went to a restaurant the other day and they charge .50 cents extra for any meal that included them. Evidently there was some sort of infection where they had to kill off thousands of chickens so there is a shortage of eggs. I hadn't checked the cost of eggs in a supermarket so wasn't aware. This restaurant, usually low priced in comparison to other places, had a sign posted. Most places just upped their prices and you paid it or not.
