Re: I remember - Another way ........l
I don't like the debit card risks myself as compared to a credit card. Having money deducted from my account before I know that the transaction has been successfully concluded can be a PITA if something purchased proves to have a problem and have to wait until reimbursed. I have both with my bank. The debit card is seldom used but I use the credit card for everything I purchase if possible including groceries. I pay the balance off each month in full so there is no interest charges and I do get credit $ for the amount spent. 1% on everything and 5% on certain categories which change every quarter. On large ticket items, where I might not want to lay out the full price in one month, I may opt to a store card when they offer six months or so before interest charges are incurred. I'll divide the amount between the time offered and pay that amount each month or perhaps pay it off completely earlier but before interest starts kicking in.
