Re: Alaska. About 15 years ago we cruised from Seward to Vancouver and were taken with the wild beauty of the Alaska panhandle. The weather was typical for that location: chilly and damp and a light drizzle was almost always with us. The one dry day we had was in Skagway, brilliantly sunny with a stiff wind, wooden plank sidewalks and a wild west feel to it. Two hours on a Sunday morning were spent in a Juneau pub, having a couple of beers with plaid shirted hunters and fishermen, watching a ballgame from the East coast. Juneau, capitol of our largest state with the look and feel of a somewhat shabby small town; I've got lots of pictures and mostly good memories of Alaska, no need to return.
