There wasn't much it couldn't do. It took picture and saved pictures. It surfed the net. It sent e-mails. I think it did text messages but I'm not sure. I never got one and I definetly never sent one. When sitting at Starbucks, I'd sometimes light it up just to look like everyone else. I wasn't always sure what I was doing but I kept a wise look on my kisser and no one was the wiser.
I also used it to make and receive phone calls.
For a while now I've been thinking: I really don't need all this. I'd just like something compact, something really small that I can stash in my pocket. And then fate intervened: I dropped my smart phone in the parking lot cracking the face plate. The phone still worked but I was being stuck by hostile glass edges and so I decided to change phones and I got the latest. I got a Flip Phone.
It's beautiful, small and sleek and it fits nicely into my pocket. It makes and receives calls, records voice mails, stores phone numbers and that is all. I took it out in Starbuck's yesterday, but immediately felt foolish. There's no reason to have a flip phone in one's hand, unless one is talking into it so I flipped it back into my pocket.
Flip phones is where it's at. Why did no one think of this until now?
