Happy to hear your lady is legal. My brother-in-law was legal once he married my sister. My cousin's wife is legal. My housekeeper's papers were in the works for many, many years before she became legal. She had to end up hiring an attorney to get them pushed through, she thought it would never happen. She was only allowed to stay because she had family here. It finally happened after 18 years. Proud to say, I was the one who took her down to get them.
But if you're trying to say the bulk of people in the new immigrant Hispanic communities are legal, you are wrong. You may be familiar with Hispanic communities on the east coast, but it's nothing like the numbers of people that we are familiar with in the Southwest.
If most of the new immigrants were legal, there wouldn't be the big issue of immigration reform that is of political concern today. It goes far beyond prejudice.
