OK Rascals, you didn't come clean in a week. That Silver tounged Dave whitewashed Willy with some logical, appropriate, words of inspiration and welcome. Answering the questions like that is almost like perjury by omission.
THE REAL FACTS: Your speed issue is not going to fast, but Too Slow! Imagine riding an 8% upgrade into a right switchback (180°), Caution sign says 15MPH. This is minimum speed! at 14 you will fall over. (CB&D) You'll find this all over Colorado. Just enter the curves at posted speed and accelerate all the way out. Very safe and fun. You DO NOT want to compete for the "Rickster's Blooper of the Year Award". I Believe 4 falls or one TKO will make you the winner. Now for the "Drop Offs" (which Dave so skillfully omitted). About mile marker 14 or 15 on Mt Evans, The upgrade is about 10% and makes a sharp left around a solid stone highwall (the mountain). STOP HERE. The asphalt is 10' 8 25/32" wide with a 19/64" shoulder (average Colorado Two Lane). Lay down on your back on the road and look up. You will see a piece of the mountain and outer space. Now, roll over on your belly, crawl to the edge and look down. The veiw is exactly the same, a piece of the mountain and outer space. You will also notice the absence of GUARD RAILS. Colorado Creed is "Real Men Don't Need Guardrails". Don't believe it for a minute. Rockies-Gold will expose you to some of the finest people and beautiful landscape and exciting riding that their is anywhere, and as you can see, were coming from everywhere.
