Doug i realize that budget is probably an issue, but the money spent on aluminum- 5052 or 3003 would be your best choices, and the aggrevation factor of wasted material until you get it right, there's a company called the Chassis Shop that offers a fiberglass seat that can be cut down for a 185.00 or so. They also have a carbon fiber version of the same seat for 399.00. bBoth can be cut down and fitted in a day. Might be worth the thought in the long run. Just a thought.
