There were a few examples of larger crape myrtles around Cinti... some reaching nearly 15ft but in time Severe cold would finish them back to either the snow line or the ground level... We are a Zone 8b climate here... with Mild wet winters and Dry....Warm.... sometimes HOT summers... We have some palms... Monkey puzzle... Tons of Eucalyptus some over 40ft tall... some Nice large Albizia well over 30ft... I know of a large acacia dealbata... being a drier climate in the summer and fall.... the daytime highs may be warm but the lows dip into the 40's....at night.... Rhodies grow well here too...
