But there is a related, similar (co-evolved perhaps) Rosaseae plant from South Africa. Leucosidea. It was hardy to the mid single digits and still looked mostly evergreen and alive, so I have hope for it as a south african tree/shrub that will survive here...there are so few. Unfortunately I lost that one when I sold my last house, not enough time to get everything. Of course when I did a silverhill order 2 weeks ago rachel didn't have it, NOW she's just added it her list again! Zut alors!
