a a week of freezing temps (lowest approx. 25f.) here for anyone who might be interested is what it looks with s.h. type plants on the southern oregon coast: various acacias---no damage except deaneii foliage bronzed (more damage to come?), acacia dealbata flowering well, longifolia blown partly down last year has very slight foliage discoloration. araucaria angustifolia no damage and surpisingly cunninghamii looks good, too. bidwillii discoloration of new tips. eucryphia cordifolia no damage, no damage to several banksias (integrifolia and saxicola), nothofagus dombeyii and cunninghamiana no damage. guevinea (chile hazel)no damage. some flower browning on several grevilleas (canberra, constance). embothrium "inca gold" (?) looks good. dacrydium cuprissinum ditto, luma apicuata no damage, plagianthus betulinus, telopea oreades look satisfactory. pittosproum eugenoides blown down last winter had no further damage by wnd or frost this year
