Posted by GleninSurrey on January 22, 2007, 9:55 am Can anyone spare a moment to list off their guesses as to the best bets for planting outside in what must be more of a coastal zone 7 than anything else! So far I am considering reasonably hardy S.H. things to be rather boringly limited...monkey puzzle tree, grevillea victorea, alstroemeria, the more homely hebes and possibly embothrium are proving themselves long term here. Hopefully I'm overlooking some good ones...anyone?

Surveying the carnage in my high elevation garden in extreme SW British Columbia, I am disheartened enough to realize I either need to move over to the Gulf islands, or give up on trying to plant many exotics outside here.
