In terms of absolute cold, it gets down to about that once or twice every winter . . . but only for an hour or so before dawn. And only for a day or two at a time. Such a long string of nights with multiple stretched of 25F were tough on the plants. But the Araucariaceae came through with nary a peep. So did the NC casuarina (C. collina) And the NZ Metrosideros also managed to come through with virtually no damage. M. carminea is even setting flowers now! M. kermadecensis 'Variegata' looks great. Only M. Tahiti got hit . . . pretty bad too. But it'll make it. I'll try to take pics of the stuff that looks good (not just the burned stuff) . . . some day.
