I went to the March 11 (10? sometime around then) Strybing sale and didn't find any treeferns at all. What other species did you get? Sorry, I can tell you anything about C. tomentosa. Large and Braggins don't really give a useful description of its appearance. I do have C. tomentosissima, which has upright fronds, but that is a different animal....
