Ah so that's what the flowers look like!
I have several seedlings of this, but haven't paid a lot of attention to them...with no signs of flower buds either. The leaves on mine look nothing like yours...I guess that's where the "polymorpha" name might come from! When you posted that pic on NW Palms I assumed it was some kinda rhodo judging by those leaves 
Was yours from seed or cutting, Ian? That often influences flowering so much...
