He should be upset with himself; he failed to learn proper tackling technique and constantly lowered his own head into tackles. I don't feel bad for him being let go, I feel bad for him having to retire young. Well granted he does retire, and he probably should!
I did read somewhere, he said he wanted to retire a Packer. The Packers should have let him retire on his own if he truly planned on retiring.
