Re: Lacy, while you're right up to a point re: his recent injury history and decline in production, at the beginning of this last year (i.e., before the ankle), he was gaining 5+ YPC. And even with the ankle (the Dallas game), he was still running hard and giving the effort. So I think it's entirely possible that he could recapture his earlier form. But whether he will, I think, will be a function of how bad he wants it (i.e., conditioning will be key - ankle injuries don't get better if you're carrying a bunch of extra weight).
If you are intimating that they should sign a FA RB, I would be as strongly against that idea as anyone can be. We have FAR greater, more immediate needs than RB - especially when MM doesn't really run the ball anyway, even when the position IS fully stocked with real talent. That goes double for AP (RB's at that age, especially when they've been featured like he has, can fall off a cliff at any moment).
Getting back to Lacy, I come back to Wolf's old comment from years ago - I think it applies to Lacy as much as anyone else on the roster: "You're only here for as long as it takes to find someone to replace you." But that replacement HAS TO be a draft pick in this case.
