We're talking about back-ups, not a starter, not a starter, not a starter, we talking about back-ups. Not a starter. Not, not … Not the starter... Not the starters, but we're talking about back-ups, man.
I agree with you that and talent/depth on the inner OL needs to improve not that we're lost our core group... but we're talking about back-up interior O-linemen in the top 3 rounds?
That really seems like overkill to me... especially since hasn't TT drafted a number of starting OL in the 4th round; including a starting LT or two...?
I mean, if they can become a starter in the next two seasons than maybe... but... I don't see back-up OG as a huge need with Barclay, Patrick, Murphy, probably a draft pick and if they have too even Spriggs like he did last year when Lang/Barclay got injured.
I see replacing Lane Taylor a bigger need than replacing the back-up OG... heck if someone can beat Taylor out, then Taylor becomes the back-up OG and you've solved two problems with one stone. (and yes filling Lang's spot is the biggest need right now)
But if we drafted an interior OL in the top 3 rounds, they should be able to compete for a starting spot in the first two years...
