After landing in Phoenix we drove up to the Grand Canyon and took a helicopter flight over the Canyon....awesome. Drove through Flagstaff and the area and then went to where the big crater is....a great big hole caused by an asteroid. Then on our way down to Tucson we decided to go through the mountains....which made my hands sweat a little as I'm afraid of heights. We stopped at a place that sold stuff....stones...all kinds of stuff related to AZ.
Looking around outside I saw a green lizard....fast as heck....and decided I wanted to see if I could catch him. I jumped as far as I could and landed on my chest with my arms and hands outstretched and sure enough I caught the little critter.
We went back inside to see if we could get a little container to put the lizard in and the guy in the store could NOT believe I caught that little critter with my bare hands. lol It was only about 4 or 5 inches long head to end of tail.
The desert museum we were at was outside of Tucson and they had live animals as far as I can remember....and I sure as heck remember correctly the humming bird exhibit and the humming birds flying directly in front of my face. The humming bird exhibit was my favorite part about that place....I don't think they have too much there but whatever we paid which I don't think was much was worth it for the humming bird experience. I guess there are a lot of different humming birds flying around in the desert down there.
